He probably had some "hilarious" reply prepared that in his brain would only work if dad says the word "ok" specifically and nothing else. Then he got upset when dad failed to recreate the scenario he envisioned.
When my son was 5 he didn’t like something we told him.
He quietly went and got some paper and started working on a list - adding names of various friends.
He added “mom” and “dad” to the bottom of the list and then crossed our names off and informed us with mock regret that we were not, sadly, invited to his (non-existent) birthday party.
