Senator Tammy Duckworth slammed Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Twitter after he said pregnant military members are a mockery of the U.S. military.

"F--k Tucker Carlson," Duckworth wrote. "While he was practicing his two-step, America's female warriors were hunting down Al Qaeda and proving the strength of America's women."

"Happy belated International Women's Day to everyone but Tucker, who even I can dance better than," the Illinois senator tweeted.

Duckworth is a retired Army National Guard lieutenant colonel with two daughters of her own. She lost both of her legs from severe combat wounds while serving in the Iraq War.

Carlson has recently come under fire for remarks he made Tuesday night addressing President Joe Biden's International Women's Day speech.

During his Monday remarks, Biden praised the recent promotion of two female generals and touched on the efforts made to better accommodate women in the military, including designing flight suits for pregnant military members and updating grooming standards that allow for a wider range of hairstyles.

"So we've got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It's a mockery of the U.S. military," Carlson said on his show the next night.

"While China's military becomes more masculine as it has assembled the world's largest navy, our military needs to become, as Joe Biden says, more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore," he said as a picture of an Air Force officer modeling the pregnant flight suit appeared next to him on screen.

The changes Carlson was referring to were initiated when former President Donald Trump held office.

Carlson's comments have also drawn criticisms from other current and former military leaders.

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's "revulsion" at the Fox News segment while, Michael Grinston, the top enlisted leader of the Army, called Carlson's words "divisive, don't reflect our values."

"Women lead our most lethal units with character. They will dominate ANY future battlefield we're called to fight on," Grinston wrote in response to another tweet from General Paul Funk, the commanding officer of the Army Training and Doctrine Command.

"Thousands of women serve honorably every day around the globe. They are beacons of freedom and they prove Carlson wrong through determination and dedication. We are fortunate they serve with us," Funk tweeted.

Carlson's segment was also slammed by Lieutenant General Ted Martin, Major General Pat Donahoe, Command Sergeant Major Rocky Carr and Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant Scott Stalker.

Kirby added that Carlson's show would continue to air on the American Forces Network, which broadcasts to troops deployed overseas.

"I would hope that in the reaction he's seeing, and hopefully in our reaction here today, that he'll realize the mistake he made and express some regret about the manner in which he essentially demeaned the entire U.S. military, and how we defend and how we serve this country," Kirby said.

Newsweek reached out to Fox News for comment but did not hear back before publication.

You know i honestly thought i was beyond being shocked, but when I read his words I gasped out loud:

'"So we've got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It's a mockery of the U.S. military,' [Tucker] Carlson said on his show"

If you didn't, you should really read the whole thing because it actually got worse than that.

Direct link to the tweet itself from Senator Duckworth; she's certainly got a way with words, between this and when she called out Donald as "Cadet Bone Spurs." Good to see morons like Carlson called out more often.
