Ben's fartbrain logic just blows my mind. So, when people with 'Dr' sit down at a dinner table, they're automatically expected to be ready to jump into action and do life-saving things???
Like, what if you're an anesthesiologist? "Well, I'm sorry you're having a stroke but (lugging open purse) I happen to have all mah drugs with me so I can make you not care!"
Or suppose you're all and legitimately a 'Doctor and have patients' but you only do infectious diseases. "Welp, you're not catching!"
Outside of movies and academic environments, does anyone in this century still introduce people at their dinner party by their titles/CV? It seems I’d be more likely to say “this is my friend Evan Williams, he’s a music professor - isn’t that so cool? Evan, this is Mike Stevens, he’s a doctor. Who’s that in the corner? Oh that’s Ben - look away, don’t make eye contact, oh shit, he’s walking over here!!”
The Dr: Sorry Ben I'm out of your private insurance's network. Let me draft up a bill and then we can sign that and get started, how does $10M sound? Demand is pretty high and I'm the only supply Ben, free market Ben, inelastic demand Ben, get signing buddy.
