It's insulated so that it keeps the tea warm. Not burning your hand is a side effect. You have a handle.

If anyone is interested in these, some good ones in a variety of sizes and designs are made by Bodum. Cheaper ones are available, but are even more fragile in my experience. Look for borosilicate glass construction.

They are especially great for draft beer or frozen cocktails if you are a slow drinker. It does a very good job keeping drinks hot or cold for a long time, plus an ice cold beer or a frozen margarita develops no condensation on the outside of the glass.

We have a few double wall pint pilsner glasses, some latte mugs, and some large espresso glasses that we use almost every day.

Just have to hand wash and be very careful with them. Definitely not appropriate for children, clumsy people, or drunk friends.
