Yeah, they ruined the story by having her be a Palpatine offspring. Just stupid how they started off the sequels making it seem like anyone could become a powerful jedi, only to dumpster dive and have her become a Palpatine
It's really disappointing that Disney, the largest media conglomerate, taking on one of the largest media franchises in history, did not have a better plan than "lol we'll wing it." We're allowed to be disappointed and even a little bit salty at that. Say you ask for a wedding cake from a bakery known for their amazing wedding cakes. Even though you're going to pay for it, you still can have high expectations, and when they deliver a crummy mess, you can be miffed.
