I saw a thread where some Conservatives were throwing a fit because of the name change. And my favorite comment was "Imagine being offended by the name of a plastic toy" posted by one of them unironically.
Who the fuck cares about Potato Head? It's not like you can't call it Mr. Potato Head when you put a mustache on him. The secret cancel culture police aren't going to bust down your door, put a gun to your head, and shout "THAT'S JUST POTATO HEAD TO YOU!"
It's like the "war on Christmas" bullshit. No one cares if you say Merry Christmas to the cashier at the gas station, and no one cares if they say it back. Its just a branding thing to appeal to a wider range of people. Because, you know. There's all kinds of different people. I know it's crazy for the pitchfork wielding conservatives to understand that these small changes in public relations aren't indicative of their culture being robbed of them. It's meant to be inclusive, as in they're included, too.
It's a microcosm of their hate boner for anyone not like them. They see things like extending rights to ethnic and sexual minorities as something being taken away from them - which isn't the case. It's not like we don't have enough rights and courtesy to give out. We don't need to ration it. It's not a material good.
