Some of the people that start a conversation with "where I grew up" when talking about race relations or even just regular public relations, refuse to admit that shit was way more fucked up than it seemed they just didn't want to upset the facade of a polite society so nobody said anything, the stories I've heard from the older generations on how they dealt with certain things is crazy.
