I'm from a densely populated part of the UK. SOoo many homes with cats. They are pretty clever and know about traffic. Not as many cases of run over cats as you would have thought. I know people who have house cats, they are usually a really expensive breed. Most people let their cats come and go. I had a cat when I was young, a massive ginger Tom cat. They said he had been neutered. He used to disappear for months. One day a close neighbour brought round a photo of his cat and her litter of 8 kittens, which our cat fathered. (No denying it, by the look of them!) So basically he was out shagging his way through the neighbourhood. He brought a whole new meaning to Dirty stop out!! I loved that loving, spiteful ball of ginger fluff 🤣🥰

Our cat doesn't like to wear a collar. We live in a pretty remote area so sometimes he goes off for a few hours. Twice now he's come home wearing a collar we didn't give him. Pretty sure he has a secret second human family out there somewhere.

my cat has a collar like that. She was across the road "talking" with the neighbours and they left their door open so she just went inside like it was her house. They thought this was adorable and started to give her treats. This went on and she started spending nights inside there rather than come home because we have dogs and another cat. There she was treated like a princess. She's their cat now. Hasn't come "home" in almost a year. I see her now and again outside but she won't come near the house when she sees the dogs and other cat. She's happy and the neighbours are taking good care of her so I'm fine with it. Still would have been nice if they had followed the fucking directions and not fed her.
