image for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Franchise To Expand With Launch Of Nickelodeon’s Avatar Studios, Animated Theatrical Film In The Works

The Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise is set to get even bigger.

Nickelodeon is launching Avatar Studios, a division designed to create original content spanning animated series and movies based on the franchise’s world.

The original creators and executive producers Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will run the studio as co-chief creative officers, reporting to Ramsey Naito, President, Nickelodeon Animation.

Avatar Studios will produce content for platforms including Paramount+ and Nickelodeon as well as third-party platforms and theatrical releases.

The first project is an animated theatrical film that is set to start production later this year.

It was followed by The Legend of Korra, which launched on Nickelodeon in 2012 and ran for four seasons. »

US and allies to build 'China-free' tech supply chain

New York (CNN Business) GameStop shares climbed rapidly and were halted twice for volatility ahead of the closing bell Wednesday.

Shares were halted once around 3:40pm ET after climbing nearly 74%, and again just over 10 minutes later after gaining 104%.

The late January surge was fueled by individual retail investors, many from the Reddit page WallStreetBets , some of whom believed the GameStop was undervalued and others who wanted to squeeze hedge funds that had shorted the stock. »

It’s the end of an era for technology fans: After nearly 36 years, Fry’s Electronics has officially confirmed that it is going out of business and closing all of its stores nationwide.

While some locations had already closed, the company will close its remaining 31 stores, which span nine different states.

Fry’s had attempted to pivot by offering aggressive price-matching campaigns and expanding beyond technology and electronics, but those efforts ultimately proved fruitless. »
