I thought this too, but since the Dems need to use the reconciliation to pass everything they want it is like they get 3 chances per year to put it all in 1 bill. Basically pork on the budget, spending, and federal debt limit bills. 1 bill per year for each according to wikipedia.
So they are taking a long time cramming in everything they can since the repubs will not vote yes on anything. This is all that will get accomplished this year. So yeah it is taking too long for any individual thing, but having to jam in a year's agenda into a bill about to be passed before March is pretty good.

I thought they at least started on the kids in cages thing? Or am I wrong? Some sort of system to reunite them with their parents.
