It might be rough for us but rougher for them in the long run.

Losing senior year, graduation, prom, sports... man, fuck COVID.

Gonna rant here, so here we go. I work in a school district as a custodian, so I get to listen in on all the juicy school gossip. Out of all the teachers I've spoken to, none of them feel as though these kids have learned anything. This pandemic has gone long enough for some kids making it to second grade without knowing how to count. Parents have been doing their kids homework and schoolwork at a higher rate. The entire year has been a waste. None of these kids are settling in to full remote or hybrid learning. Had we just, as a country, fully locked down and maybe sacrificed the year for kids, we'd be in a better place. We keep putting on a show of doing things as normal but we aren't getting anything done.

Yea and kids who aren't doing well in school this past year are still being penalized. It'll be interesting (infuriating, rather) to see how many students across the nation will have to repeat their grade level due to poor performance, or attendance.
