Dat heeft de rechtbank in Den Haag bepaald in een zaak die was aangespannen door de stichting Viruswaarheid.

De maatregel is op verkeerde rechtsgronden genomen, oordeelt de rechter.

De rechter is gevraagd de avondklok te handhaven zolang er geen definitieve beslissing is genomen.

Volgens de voorzieningenrechter maakt de avondklok een vergaande inbreuk op het recht op bewegingsvrijheid en de persoonlijke levenssfeer.

Voor de invoering van de avondklok is echter gebruikgemaakt van de Wet buitengewone bevoegdheden burgerlijk gezag, waarbij de Eerste en Tweede Kamer niet hoeven te worden betrokken bij de besluitvorming.

A white, male University of New Hampshire chemistry professor has resigned after being accused of posing as a female immigrant of color on Twitter to make racist and sexist comments.

The university, which has not named the professor and described the person only as a faculty member, confirmed the resignation Friday after a four-month investigation.

A Democratic congressman and a leading civil rights group are suing Donald Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani for allegedly inciting the deadly insurrection on the US Capitol on 6 January.

As well as targeting Mr Trump and Mr Giuliani, the suit also names two far-right organisations, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers.
