Very interesting formations! I’m curious how those hills/mountains were formed... doesn’t seem like a glacial thing and it isn’t a mountain range like I would expect from tectonic plate collisions (subduction or whatever the scientific name is).

Any geologically-inclined people around?

About 10 years ago during a business trip to China I took a stop in Guilin before going back. There's some neat caves in the area, but really the highlight was the ride on the river and the hike. A ton of fun and incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend it.
