How much did it drop after the fall of the soviet union? Looks like about 7 million or so

I'm more surprised about the fall in population in the 90's. I had no idea it was that big.

I remember seeing a statistic on the Death toll of World War 2 but of each of the soviet republics. Its shocking. Belarus was the highest, losing more than 25% of it population and it still hasn't recovered from it. The current population is still sub 1939 population which was the peak at around 10.5ish million people.
