My family is like 75% GOP.. There was a time where I would engage them on political issues. We all know how that ended of course, every time.... but regardless, years ago they would all proclaim how Trump was the greatest president ever, and how he’s draining the swamp of all this corruption, and how he’s making America great again.... all the Trumptm slogans.
They don’t do that anymore.
They’re all diehard GOP still... but they say they won’t vote for Trump..... oh, did I get your hopes up? No, they now say they’ll vote for the GOP candidate, regardless of who it is.... because Trump is still better than those socialists... and, its our duty to protect the country from socialism.
It’s such a fucking con, and they are sold, hook line and sinker. They can’t possibly imagine that Trump is destroying the nation, nor can they be bothered to recognize the rule of law eroding away beneath their feet... it’s all about the dirty dems and the anti socialist movement.
The latest protests were all the food they needed. The second the looting started, the second the spray paint cans came out, it was, “See. This is what the country would be like.”
There’s no hope until we chip away that stone wall around their brains.
And then to be them as they all are collectively thrown under the bus and disowned by their savior. “In no way did Trump instruct them to or in any way direct them to assault the Capitol. His supporters did that all on their own and did not entertain the consequences of their actions. They are not that intelligent”. - Trump’s legal defense strategy during the 2nd impeachment trial.
