Older lady's card declined in front of me. I had 20 some odd extra bucks, so when she shuffled off in shame, I quietly told the cashier to put all that on mine. Ffs she was just getting food and shit.
Then I asked the dude to keep it quiet and quickly run her out her stuff before she left. Unfortunately he told her it was me and she hobbled over to me in the parking lot and broke down in tears in gratitude. My only thought was, damnit, this shouldn't have to be this way. Any of it.

Yall ever had a card decline even though you actually had the money?
I had a few times where the bank just decided my purchase was probably fraudulent, so they embarrass me in the checkout line.
