My mind was blown when I read up on the Bauhaus art schools in Germany that has the same "modern" architecture and were built from 1919-1933.

I did the tour. It's well-kept. There's a lot of transformable casework (for example, tables that fold away, pocket doors, etc.) and a lot of wood work, in general. Despite the severe modern appearance from the outside, It is very much a hand-made home from a time when factory-made goods were not really a thing. Maybe because of its modest size and its hand-made construction, it felt good to be in that space, as a human.
