This is sweet, but oh God, the things this man and his family will have to endure over the next years, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. My grandfather lived seven years longer than they expected him to with ALS, but he couldn't swallow, he couldn't talk past groans, my grandmother communicated with him via yes or no questions, a letter chart, and blinks. I wish this man and his family strength and hope they never take all the time they have now for granted, because Jesus, that's an awful way to go.
Also, for those who aren't as familiar with ALS, it's a death sentence. Currently there is no cure. It's only a matter of time.
