When my father was overseas we were lucky enough to hear from him once a week or every other; emails came almost daily. Then, all of a sudden, we didn’t hear from him. When we would see news reports about IEDs or attacks best where he was stationed the feet was unreal. It was about a month before we finally got a call from him and he was just as confused as to why we weren’t answering the phone or responding to his emails. That was a terrible month but I can’t imagine what it was like for families before our current technology.
