In southern Japan, there is a train station in the middle of nowhere, with no entrance or exit. You get off, but you can't go anywhere and, to leave, you have to wait for the next train. This station has only one function: to remind men of the importance of stopping, and admire the view.

I lived in Japan for about 13 years riding the train back and forth for school. My most memorable experience was falling asleep coming home from school and waking up way past my stop. I had to get out and reboard but was able to see a castle and a part of the country I had never been to for a train line (odawara sen) I rode for 13 years. Long story short, missing your connection and being late isn’t always bad.
