I really find their idea of censorship hilarious. If you are at a rock concert, and a guy gets up on stage and decides he’s going to use the microphone to shout racial slurs and voice his opinion on what a “perfect” world is. He is not being censored when they turn off the microphone and forcibly remove him while banning him from returning to the concert.

Con: Oh, you know the ones

Me: Which ones? Why are you self-censoring?

So in 2019 I was working a job where I had to share an office with a guy who was totally off the deep end with MAGA stuff, he was very into Q, worshipped Trump. I mostly just kept my head down (it was an 8-month assignment so I just wanted to get through it) but this guy would not shut the fuck up with his insane views mixed with explicit sexism/racism/you name it.

One day he really got on my nerves complaining about some outrage du jour about conservatives being censored on social media sites. He started saying that these sites all needed to be broken up because they were too powerful and were censoring conservatives. He seemed sure that Trump was going to do this soon.

I casually mentioned to him that because these were private businesses, breaking them up would constitute "big government regulation," which meant Trump was not very likely to do it. But I noted that this was one of Elizabeth Warren's specific campaign talking points.

"Oh..." he said, brain sizzling from this information, like it had actually maybe pierced his bubble a little bit. "Well, I guess she has ONE good idea!"

Then he started ranting about how women are too emotional to be leaders.
