Fun fact "wadi Al-Hitan" also translates to "valley of whales" from Arabic.

Fun fact, there are tons of tiny whale teeth scattered across that valley.

They look kind of like sharks’ teeth and you can’t avoid stepping on them because most are so small that you can’t see them unless you’re sitting down. The hardest to see are probably from the smaller of the two whales common in the valley, the Dorudon.

Nearby is also a great camping spot with amazing sun rises. And at night the sky is so clear you’ll be able to see over a dozen satellites and several shooting stars without any difficulty.
