Anyone that works in the trades knows that the keystone pipeline job is a blip on anyone’s career. When you work as a pipe-liner you spend your entire career going around the country working on hundreds of different jobs. You know what is going to happen to everyone that lost their job on the Keystone pipeline ... they will pack their bags and go to the next job, just like every other fucking pipeline job they were on before.
People that don’t understand the trades are acting like this is some devastating loss of thousands of jobs when in reality people who work in construction know this is just another day in the life as a tradesman. This is the equivalent of someone in the military crying about being redeployed to another base. You don’t spend your entire life working on one project.
If you’re an oil and gas worker, complaining about the loss of the likely temporary pipeline job anyways, you are literally angry at the nature of oil and gas jobs. It’s literally a boom and bust cycle and everyone who works in it knows that.
