There is nothing wrong with being an entrepreneur or being a worker. We need mutual respect. Most businesses need employees and employees need employers. It is supposed to be a symbiotic relationship, not a parasitic one

Also, the whole "you need to start a business" narrative is extremely counter-productive when it comes to actually fixing the current problems we have with the workplace. Not everyone can or should need to start their own business in order to live comfortably and feel respected. Not to mention that it is usually the same people who tell others to "start a business" who also justify treating employees like shit and paying them poorly because they "didn't have enough drive" to "start a business"

TL;DR: fuck business Twitter

Was in Hawaii once and met a dude on the side of the road selling coconuts. Got to talking a bit and given his Scottish accent, asked him why he's on the side of a Hawaiian road selling coconuts. He said something to the likes of:

"I fucking love coconuts man. And I love to hang out and live life. I climb a couple tress, grab a few coconuts every day, sell them and spend the rest of my time on the beach."

Now I dont think I can spend my entire life on a beach like him but I think about that dude and his freedom a few times a week.. Mostly when I'm blankly staring at a presentation that needs updating.
