MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - CBS7 has learned the FBI has arrested Midlanders Jenny Cudd and Eliel Rosa for rioting at the Capitol last Wednesday.
Both Cudd and Rosa appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald Griffin on Wednesday afternoon. Cudd and Rosa are facing misdemeanor charges and will have a virtual hearing with a Magistrate judge in Washington D.C. later this month. Both released on a personal recognizance bond.
Cudd and Rosa could get up to one year in prison if they’re found guilty of the class A misdemeanor and up to six months in prison if found guilty of the class B misdemeanor.
In a press conference Tuesday, the Justice Department stated that sedition charges could be brought against some of the rioters.
After the riot, Cudd posted about it on her Facebook page, bragging that “we” tore down the doors to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office.
She later backed that statement up, saying that she was referring to the group as a whole. She claimed she didn’t vandalize anything in the building.
“Do I think that it was wrong for us to go to the Capitol? Absolutely not. Do I think that it was wrong for me to go through an open door and get inside of the Capitol? No I don’t. I didn’t break any laws, I didn’t do anything unlawful, and I think that’s probably why the FBI and the law enforcement have not contacted me,” said Cudd in an interview with CBS7.
Several times, Cudd told CBS7 she was proud of what she did and that she’d do it again.
She also said she had gotten several death threats at her florist shop – Becky’s Flowers - after the riot.
Plus, she said, hundreds of people had gone online and given the shop bad reviews.
She has since shut down her Facebook page.
Midland Mayor Patrick Payton released the following statement on Cudd’s arrest:
“As to the events surrounding Jenny Cudd, this is a federal matter and it has been since all the events unfolded last week in DC. The mayor will reserve any further comment for much later and would encourage us all to reserve any further speculation or judgment on these matters until more is known and the federal authorities progress in their work on this matter.”

Review on Jenny Cudd's flower shop a month ago:
"I have always used this florist for mums and high school formals. Recently, the owner has become very vocal online with scary misinformation about COVID, and at the business, she encourages not masking. If you think COVID isn't real and are willing to risk your health and the health of your family, this is the place for you! I will never again give my money to a business that cares so little for its staff, customers, and the health of the community."

Does a judge think it was wrong is more the issue.

Do it, Jenny! Tell that judge you'd do it again given half a chance. Stand tall though the sentencing, Jenny. Don't buckle, Jenny. No 5th Amendment plea, no plea deals period. Show'em what a true Patriot looks like, Jenny. Take all those months of imprisonment without flinching, Jenny...you winner.
