I remember seeing something similar to this at the Dachau Concentration Camp. It was in the shower room, and there were glass panes with photographs printed on them from the liberation. The photographs were printed somewhat transparent, and if you looked at a couple of them in the right spot, it would line up almost perfectly with the actual room. Not sure if fully intentional, but still gave me chills. Sort of like actually looking into the past.

Million dollar idea: one could do the same thing with a phone app by overlaying virtual objects with real ones found on camera. Pokémon Go style.
