This titanium bolt is a part of my femur, and protrudes from my residual limb. I bolt my prosthesis onto it so I don’t need a traditional socket. It is called “osseointegration.”

Is it uncomfortable? In my mind, I’m imagining every tiny knock and tap on it hurting like hell and being at risk of damaging your femur, though I’m sure it’s far more stable than my brain is trying to convince me.
