Some of the photos from the capital steps are so strange. It's middle aged suburbanites dressed up in costumes smiling for the camera like they're at Disneyland. There seems to be a severe disconnect between the graveness of their actions and whatever fantasy is playing out in their heads.
And when their terrorist insurrection doesn't end up in fun and people high-fiving them. they break down.
It's as if storming the capitol while congress was in session was equivalent to a really scorching tweet that the whole world would have responded to by saying, "Yep! You were right all a long! You get to run everything now!"
