Not as easy as it looks, and most truck drivers don’t make anywhere near 100k a year.

That being said, the point still stands. You don’t need to go to college if you don’t want to or don’t think it’s for you. Just have a (loose) plan at least on what you think you’re going to do instead

Edit: Since this comment has gotten popular I’ll add more info on college (US POV)-

Obviously make sure that the major you do in college (if you choose to go) has good enough job prospects for you. STEM doesn’t always make good money. A straight bachelors in biology or chemistry doesn’t usually have great job prospects (by many people’s standards). Just do a lot of research. Try to do well in high school so you can get a lot of scholarships, and don’t spend too much doing your undergrad. I’m going to school for free. Actually, I’m getting paid to go right now. All I did was I had a good GPA in high school and a good ACT score. Usually the rule of thumb is that you don’t want to take out more loans over the 4 years than what your first year salary out of college will be. Please don’t spend an absolute fortune on college, there’s probably a cheaper route or option. Maybe go to community college for 2 years and then transfer if you can’t get good enough scholarships, or go to a smaller state school. The ones in my state are less than 20k a year for tuition and boarding.

You’ll probably change your major at some point, but that’s okay. I figured it out eventually and you will too.

And again, you don’t need to go to college to be successful in life. You don’t even need a lot of money in life to be “successful”.

What's this teacher talking about? Squidward said that we could become anything we set our mind to.

I work in IT and i do some system administration work but a good chunk of my of day is taking ticket escalations and managing broader issues. One of My more awkward moments was helping someone and they said with no irony “ if you keep this up maybe you can transfer over here one day and make good money”. I told them man that would be awesome, ill keep my nose to the grindstone and maybe one day.

I have a friend in that same department and i know i make almost more than double what they do 🙃. I never judge anyone by what they make but dont assume and judge someone’s career.
