I tried to explain this to my in-laws and they swear it was just as hard. I brought out the inflation calculator and everything, didn’t matter, they won’t be wrong that they had worked harder than my generation had to.
My parents bought our farm house in 1997 fro 350k... and sold in 2019 4.5 million... farmers REALLY wanted my parents land...
not really related to this, my parents just tell me that my generation isn’t motivated to do anything and if you want to earn a living, have to work as hard as them... and in the end, they just won the lottery of house deals... so not sure how I can take their advice XD
An in law said the problem with my generation is that we're lazy... This was our opening conversation as I arrived late to Christmas after working my 9th consecutive 12 hour day.
Then proceeded to work remotely during the Christmas gathering....
