Also of note: Grey groups non-religious people and other religious groups together. While that might not be much of an issue in a lot of parts of Germany, especially in the east, big cities may appear grey because they have more religious minorities (e.g. Muslims in Germany) which can increase the grey by a few percentage points in cities.

In Norwegian we have a word "barnetro", which can be directly translated as "childhood faith". It's the religion you grow up with. This map makes me think about that word.
