For my dogs birthday, we cooked her a three layer steak to look like a birthday cake. We went for a long walk somewhere new, invited her other favourite humans to join her birthday party and gave her toys. The next days after she got her usual kibbles. She whined and was so upset for a whole week. Dogs remember, but dogs don’t understand why you can’t just...do it everyday.
