The push to end Trump's term before Jan. 20 comes just hours after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol as Congress was ratifying the Electoral College votes showing President-elect Joe Biden Joe BidenTrump acknowledges end of presidency after Congress certifies Biden win Congress affirms Biden win after rioters terrorize Capitol Here's how newspaper front pages across the world looked after mobs stormed the Capitol MORE was victorious.

"It is with great sadness that we write to you following the incidents that unfolded at the U.S. Capitol today. As you presided over the U.S. Senate, angry supporters of President Trump attempted an insurrection, illegally storming and breaching the U.S. Capitol building to stop the certification of President-elect Biden's victory," the lawmakers wrote.

They went on to cite the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which provides an avenue through which the vice president and Cabinet can remove a sitting president who is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."

"Even in his video announcement this afternoon, President Trump revealed that he is not mentally sound and is still unable to process and accept the results of the 2020 election," the lawmakers wrote to Pence.

"For the sake of our democracy, we emphatically urge you to invoke the 25th Amendment and begin the process of removing President Trump from power. President has shown time and again that he is unwilling to protect our Democracy and carry out the duties of the office."

So, is it happening?

Many rats are jumping ship. Once-allies have no love for him after today. Is this Trump going down, right now, live?

Republican senators who were expected to speak in trump's defense are giving scathing condemnation after scathing condemnation of today's events. Most of trump's once-fiery defenders are now meek or flippant (Graham: "But today...all I can say is, uh, count me out, enough is enough"), all of congress is deeply shaken. Pence is meek and mild, showing zero desire to obstruct.

Obama speaking up immediately saying that trump "incited" today's violence (which he did). Tom Cotton calling for trump's immediate concession. White House aides are resigning. Melania's chief of staff and social secretary, resigned tonight. Top WH national security officials are reported to be currently weighing resigning. "Mass resignations from Trump administration follow president’s failure to stop Capitol violence"

Trump's Twitter and Facebook suspended. Some of trump's cabinet is currently meeting and discussing using the 25th.

So, is it going down? Is this the season finale? The end for the orange menace?

Although Pence has shown no backbone for the past four years, this could be a viable option for him to avoid being labeled as a treasonous collaborator in the history books.

I'm surprised pence hasn't jumped at this chance yet considering how many times he got thrown under the bus in the last few days. Maybe mother needs to give him permission first.
