I grew up with a deaf dad and a mom with one deaf ear. every single time I watched TV, it had subtitles. and honestly, growing up with subtitles actually really improved my reading and writing as a kid.
there's too many mumbling actors. and sometimes you have movies where the dialogue is barely noticeable compared to the music/effects it's crazy. subtitles are a godsend
