With The Office leaving Netflix for a, apparently, crappy streaming service I think the entertainment companies need this reminder.

Same with releasing Vikings on Amazon but not in Australia... They realise we are a prison colony that stole another people's spot on the map right? In fact I remember seeing a news story saying Australia was only overtaken by America when it came to the volume of data used for piracy, we have less than ⅒ the population and a pathetic internet network...

I hate this. I can't subscribe to Disney+, Prime, Hulu, Netflix and whatever else there is. I'd happily pay a few bucks more to have it all in one place.

I gave up trying to manage all these streaming services.

I took some old pc parts (2012) and put them together, bought an 8TB hard drive (installed it), installed Ubuntu LTS 20.04, Installed Plex Media Server (Home Media Software, you can put movies and tv shows on it and you can stream it to any device globally and even share with friends), and installed Sonarr and Radarr (software that finds tv shows, movies, and anime, finds torrents that fits your criteria, downloads them for you, and puts them in the right place so Plex can see them, and it even automatically downloads new episodes of currently airing shows).

It took me a minute to figure everything out but my god it was so fucking worth it. I never have to give a shit about X streaming service because if i want to watch a show all i have to do now is grab my phone, open sonarr, search for the show, hit add, and it'll be ready to watch within minutes. Even my roommates, girlfriend, and family use my plex server.

Fuck this fractured streaming ecosystem, im free.
