I've looked, and I can't find any instances of the media demonizing Tamir Rice. There were articles reporting that the City of Cleveland blamed Tamir Rice, but these articles don't support the city's argument. The closest I found was a headline in the Washington Post saying "It's Tamir Rice's Fault", but if you read the article, you can see that the headline is clearly meant to be sarcastic. So candidly, I don't understand what OP is on about. If they can point to an example, I'll gladly admit to being wrong here.
UPDATE: I was pointed to an article on cleveland.com entitled "Tamir Rice's father has a history of domestic violence". It seems a bit of a thin reed on which to support the original post, but it certainly goes to my original point.

What are the journalistic rules? Do they need to wait until the investigation is over and it's officially ruled a suicide?
Like do we know he wasn't trying to run away when it went off?
