I put in a new one on Christmas day, it was like being stroked by a feather in comparison. I've got no idea how long I had been scraping that blunt metal over my face.
If you want to save yourself some money, keep the razors submerged in baby oil after shaving/cleaning them. Will stop the blades from corroding. I can go multiple months shaving a few times a week without replacing the razors.
