My mom killed herself a few years ago. It was the hardest thing that ever happened to me. However, in hindsight I don't think she is suffering anymore, and I am not by her hand. Mental illness is a fucker. I still feel incredibly guilty about the relief I feel knowing I won't have to look after her, you are not alone, seek help if you need it and accept that you might not be able to save her.
