I have red hair. One time, a guy I went out with a FEW times randomly said "I don't want short red-haired sons".
I didn't bother explaining to him that he could still have red haired kids even if he bred with a blonde or a brunette (who are carriers). If you are both carriers, then you "risk" it. So avoiding red heads does not guarantee anything. You would simply have to test your mates as carriers of the gene (or look around their family tree for ginger beards). Height is also a complicated one. No guarantee in that either.
Always amazes me how everyone wants a future NBA or beauty pageant offspring but no one wants a kind and compassionate kid who will check up on you. A shallow ass society.
Imagine being their ginger kids and learning that your dad broke up with some girl because your grandma didn't want ginger grand kids. Would make me feel a bit unloved
