Almost hit one of these babies in the “wild” with my car in South FL. I braked so hard that my car did a 180 on the road. Will never forget that experience, but still thankful that I didn’t kill it, and my 95’ Jeep Grand Cherokee also lived to see another day.

The Florida “Panther” is just the same animal as the Puma, Cougar, Mountain Lion is. It’s simply a disjunctive population.
It was once considered a sub species but genetic testing has proven that not to be the case.
