Tl;Dr for the source: The solar panels absorb ultra violet and are translucent for visible light. They currently have an efficiency of 1% but they're aiming at 5%.
I'm very skeptical about this type of articles. usually you won't ever hear about them after sometime. why? because most of these claims are made to get grant money and investors.
most of these products are either super inefficient that they can't be mass deployed or are just theoretical in nature.
i see these types of articles on reddit everyday and nothing ever comes out of it
