Nearly 1,500 lawyers on Monday urged the bar associations across the US to initiate an investigation and take action against Donald Trump’s legal team, including his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who are leading lawsuits claiming election fraud.

They argued that the attempts of Mr Trump’s legal team are “indefensible” and they must be penalised.

“It is indefensible for lawyers to falsely proclaim widespread voting fraud, submit a pattern of frivolous court claims and actively seek to undermine citizens’ faith in our election’s integrity,. We condemn this conduct without reservation." said the letter.

The letter said it is obvious that Mr Giuliani’s aim is “to fuel Mr Trump’s campaign to delegitimise the outcome of the election.”

It comes after a series of legal challenges by Trump campaign alleging fraud in the 2020 presidential elections failed to prove anything. The president’s team has filed over 50 cases with allegations of voter fraud, rigging, and unfair treatment of Republicans, including five lawsuits in five different states on Friday.

The letter urged the bar associations to condemn and investigate the abuse of law [by Mr Trump’s lawyers].

It has been signed by lawyers, several former judges, former federal prosecutors, and law professors including.

While his legal team is continuing with legal challenges, Mr Trump is reportedly planning to officially announce his intention to run for 2024 presidential elections.

Several of the Trump campaign’s lawsuits were rejected by the federal judges, including some appointed by Mr Trump himself, in absence of concrete evidence. Now, only a handful of lawsuits are pending.

Top officials in the swing states, including Republicans, have also discarded the president’s claims of “widespread voter fraud”. But his legal team led by Mr Giuliani continue with their legal attempts to turn the election results in favour of Donald Trump.

Jesus Christ can we go back to when actions had consequences and people actually gave a fuck about breaking the law...

Every member of the 'strike force' is lying, of course.

We also know Rudy is COVID positive now, too, and may have infected hundreds. And that Powell's claims are complete nonsense, too, even more heavily laden with conspiracies than Giuliani's statements. Then you've got Ellis, who has said she thinks God gave her the right to chuck out election results.

Frightening situation all around, though it's good to see it being called out.

It’s pretty fucking ridiculous this man has been allowed to operate at all the last 5 years.

It’s obvious we need better checks and balances for disbarment, being allowed on the “news” etc etc

Rudy shouldn’t be allowed to be in a MyPillow commercial let alone anywhere near someone with any semblance of power.
