It’s really depressing that we’re 9 months into a pandemic that’s killed millions and people STILL only want to take it seriously after their loved ones are directly affected.
Ugh I hate people like that. There’s a guy in my town that works at a shipping center, he got COVID (well his child did and then he started displaying symptoms but refused to go get checked) and he still went to work for the entire time he was sick. Didn’t tell anyone. Then had the fucking nerve to brag about it because obviously since no one at his work died from getting it, it’s not serious.
He potentially exposed 1,000s of people at work (since he works at a shipping/distribution center!) and who knows how many people in person. He sent his kid to school with it for the first couple days even after KNOWING his kid had COVID. And he’s bragging about it. As far as I’m aware, he’s a fucking murderer, and he’s somehow proud of it.
I have been hunkering down for months. I went into work the other day for the first time in months because there was an emergency and honestly my boss is incompetent and I can’t afford for the business to shut down. As it is we are down by almost a 1/3 of our business. My wife fell sick a few days later. I thought I’d given her COVID. (Tested negative thankfully). Honestly I am so sick of this. Essential workers are out there putting their lives on the line, health care workers are dying and are totally burnt out because we are dealing with various leaders who are either incompetent or just don’t care. I’m so sick of it all. I have no empathy left for people who had no empathy for others. I don’t care that you were lied to. You decided my life was worth the risk.
