I started working at 13. I’m 25 now. It’s still a struggle. Houses have gone up about 500% (70k my parents a paid for a house that’s worth 400k now) but wages went up 50-70%.
What always throws me about these arguments (you see it a lot about maternity leave with the “I did with out it they can too” crowd) is ... don’t we want things to be better for the generations after us?
I sure as hell don’t want younger women struggling in the ways I have as I’ve built a career. I don’t want kids being stuck with the levels of debt I have either! I want them to have it easier, I want the world to be better, even if I’m not directly benefiting I don’t want someone to struggle just because I did.

There are people who suffer and think others should suffer too, and people who suffer and don't want the same for anyone else.
