Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger on Wednesday told President Donald Trump to delete his Twitter account.

The lawmaker quote-tweeted the president's link to a video statement with more unfounded claims about the November 3 election.

"Time to delete your account," Kinzinger, who represents Illinois' 16th District, tweeted.

A Republican congressman told President Donald Trump to "delete your account" on Wednesday night after the president tweeted a link to a 45-minute speech in which he repeated baseless claims of widespread voter fraud in the election.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who represents Illinois' 16th District, quote-tweeted the president's video statement and added, "Time to delete your account."

Kinzinger has referred to Trump's election-fraud claims as baseless conspiracy theories.

"The @FBI did not rig the election. If you find yourself believing they did, please stop, and say it out loud, and you will realize how silly it sounds," he tweeted over the weekend, adding that Trump was "simply flooding the zone with baseless conspiracies again."

Support for Trump's questioning the election result has faded in his inner circle. Vice President Mike Pence is said to be the latest member of the administration keen for Trump to abandon the strategy.

A senior administration official told The Daily Beast this week that it was "an open secret" that Pence "absolutely does not feel the same way about the legal effort as President Trump does."

The official added that Pence "doesn't want to go down with this ship" and that he "believes much of the legal work has been unhelpful."

The Trump campaign has continued to claim, without evidence, that widespread voter fraud cost him the presidential election, and it filed several lawsuits in key states. But its legal challenges have been unsuccessful, with the campaign failing to provide evidence to support its allegations.

My fav part about his speech is that within a minute, Trump contradicts himself. He opens the speech with complaining how ' we used to have what was called, election day. Now we have election days, weeks, and months, and lots of bad things happened during this ridiculous period of time' but then again complains about how 'they' (whoever the fuck that means) anointed a winner while ballots were still being tallied. So which is it? You want it all done in a day or have patience to finish the count?

There was a guy at work that bet me $20 Trump would win 4 more years the Monday after the weekend Biden was projected to be president elect. Today he upped the bet to $100. Yes his base is eating this up sadly...

Edit: Due to overwhelming curiosity, the deal is for who is inaugurated and the president as of Jan 21. We have like 4 coworkers who are moderating the bet, and we’ve worked out all finer details of what constitutes a winner. Yes he is serious and believes he will win; yes I plan on collecting. If he somehow does win, I will pay up but if that were to happen $100 would be the least of my worries. Cheers and I will update in January with the results if anyone is somehow interested in how it turned out.

Yeah - that speech was nuts. Off the rails. I’m gonna say - not his best speech ever, but, his base is gonna eat it up.
