I expected my prius to be really slow like everyone said, but I was pleasantly surprised how quick it actually was. It's not fast like my 3000GT by any means but I've never had any problems passing in it.
I have a 2010 Prius and have never had issues with it getting up to speed. Because the battery kicks in first it actually has been take off then most gas cars. If you are having issues then I think you should get your car checked tbh. I mean, it ain't a sports car but it's better then a lot of midgrade cars out there.

Hell I’m more impressed at someone from New Jersey in a Prius with an NRA bumper sticker. Not the state or vehicle you’d usually expect for that.
