The grandmother (Wanda) accidentally sent a text to the guy (Jamal) inviting him for thanksgiving dinner thinking she was texting her grandson. After realizing the mixup, Jamal asked if he could still have a plate and Wanda said “Of course! That’s what grandmas do... feed everyone!” This happened in 2016 and they have been having Thanksgiving dinner together ever since.

Unfortunately, Wanda’s husband Lonnie passed away from COVID-19 earlier this year. Wanda got it too but thankfully recovered. This is one of my favorite internet stories ever, and I wish nothing but the absolute best for Jamal, Wanda, and the rest of their families!
