I can't speak for the other countries but it's not true that nobody is uninsured in Germany. If you are self-employed you have to take care of your health insurance too. There are a lot of people who save the money...until they get sick and have to pay the full amount.

Canadian here. If my taxes are spent on someone I will never meet to provide them with adequate health care I’m 100% ok with that.
