Is it still canon that Tatooine was one of the few places he could hide because of how over powering the darkside was there? I remember reading that as well as Yoda going to Dagobah for the same reason.
It always made me wonder how much of that slaughter was actually Anakin’s fault. I mean his intense sensitivity and lowered tolerance to the environment probably already made that trip much harder and more intoxicating for him than anyone else then you mix in the emotional issue it was impossible to overcome. Anakin was a lot stronger and disciplined then we give him credit for.
