Once of the best wedding cakes I've seen my sister produce. She received an email this morning from the bride calling it "the ugliest part of her wedding". Along with some other nasty things. :(
YET it is the same color as the curtain and clearly the "ugly" color the bride chose. So that's on her. Your sister could always take it back and leave her with no cake. Sounds like the bride is trying to get out of paying for it.

How tf do you arrange for a cake of this nature to be made without knowing what it’ll look like in advance?! Sounds bs to me.

I personally think the colors are horrible (which the bride would have chose). But that craftsmanship is beautiful.
